I didn’t grow up surfing. I grew up in the Netherlands no waves, no surf culture, no guidance. When I started at 17, surf-specific training wasn’t a thing. I had no idea how to prepare. No idea how to build paddle power. No idea why I kept feeling weak in the water. Every surf trip, I felt the same frustration you feel now:
